Apply to solve a CivTech Challenge
CivTech Round 12 launches late summer 2026! Get ready for the opportunity to work with a public sector customer to solve a real-world problem, build a new product, and grow your business.
-
A CivTech Challenge is a real problem identified by a public sector organisation, where no solution currently exists.
Instead of specifying a solution, the organisation sets out the problem in the form of a Challenge. Applicants are invited to propose innovative approaches and work collaboratively to develop a viable solution.
Each Challenge is supported by a Challenge Sponsor — the organisation that owns the problem and works closely with particpants throughout the process.
-
CivTech is open to everyone:
Individuals
Existing start-ups
Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)
Larger or more-established companies and organisations
You don’t even need to be a company to apply — individuals and early-stage teams are welcome. However, teams that are selected for the Accelerator will be expected to form a limited company.
You don’t need any previous public sector experience — just a strong idea and the capability to develop it.
-
