The CivTech Round 9 Challenges are now live!

We are delighted to have launched CivTech Round 9.

This year’s programme marks a real shift in the evolution of the programme, and we are able to increase our financial support to more individuals and companies significantly. We are absolutely thrilled to be able to offer £7.8 million worth of contract opportunities for tech entrepreneurs and businesses of any size.

We are now inviting companies and individuals from across the UK and beyond to develop solutions for 9 new Challenges, which have been set by public sector bodies, charities, and the Scottish Government itself.

Successful respondents are paid over a series of stages to work with public sector organisations to develop their proposals from ideas through to commercially viable products. The contract value available on each Challenge is between £650,000 and £1,300,000 per Challenge.

The 2023 Challenges focus on key Scottish Government priorities including the economy, the environment, Net Zero targets and building sustainable public services. As ever, we are calling all innovators, entrepreneurs, start-ups - anyone with a passion for problem solving through tech to apply. All you need is that great idea, and a determination to see it develop — we’ll help you do the rest. More information about the CivTech Round 9 Challenges can be found here.

Proposals must be submitted via Public Contracts Scotland by midday on 22 August.

The best ideas from initial submissions will be placed into the CivTech Accelerator, resulting in a Demo Day big reveal in early 2024.
