Sylvera

A scalable, credible dMRV solution for restoration projects across the UK. Our product will provide annual estimates of above-ground biomass for any area of land, enabling developers and investors to monitor and verify project outcomes in a timely, low-cost manner. The product will produce these estimates based on remote-sensing models that are calibrated and validated with a comprehensive, state-of-the-art set of ground data collected across the UK.

The Opportunity

Providing carbon project developers and investors with annual, high-quality, actionable data on project performance over time. This data will be available at a fraction of the cost to acquire field data manually, unlocking the ability to monitor results, mitigate risks, and assure key stakeholders of progress.

Next Steps

We will deploy our Field Data Science team to varied landscapes across the UK to gather in-situ data for underpinning a remote-sensing model. This campaign will use terrestrial and airborne lidar to measure forest carbon, producing a rich and high-quality data set for model training.

The Team

Our team of data scientists, remote-sensing experts, and field operators have collected data in 9 countries across 4 continents, spanning 170,000 hectares using state-of-the-art equipment and sensors. At Sylvera, we use this data to produce insights for our customers from across the carbon market, ensuring that their investments incentivize real climate action.
