Challenge Sponsor: The GRAB Trust
ERS
ERS has developed a novel process and apparatus which can target removal of microplastic (<5 mm) and mesoplastic (5-50 mm) plastic litter from Arrochar. This approach provides significant cost saving (80% reduction) and reduced environmental impact (98% reduction is CO2e) over the current approach of disposing of litter contaminated seaweed directly to landfill.
ERS responded to CivTech Challenge 11.3
The Opportunity
A mobile shore-operated system enables us to move from site to site to address similar contaminated sites where litter is mixed with non-litter material in coastal areas, on rivers and canals and other inland water bodies.
Next Steps
Having successfully demonstrated our approach through the CivTech Accelerator we are now looking to offer the service commercially.
The Team
