The Cyber Scheme

The Cyber Scheme is building a UK accreditation framework for robotic security testing, helping public bodies adopt robotics safely, securely and transparently. Working with The National Robotarium and a technical advisory panel, we are defining the curriculum, training and exams needed to certify competent practitioners. The framework is aligned to the professional standards of the UK Cyber Security Council and includes a practical assessment. It represents a first‑of‑its‑kind professional accreditation focused on robotic security testing, creating a trusted register of qualified testers for public‑sector procurement and deployment.

The Opportunity

The framework creates a scalable national and international market for accredited robotic security testing. Revenue is generated through training, exams, professional registration and organisational accreditation. It supports public‑sector procurement while enabling commercial growth through licensed training providers, certification pathways and international adoption as robotics deployment accelerates across health, infrastructure and public services.

Next Steps

Our next steps focus on completing the core curriculum, training materials and assessments, followed by pilot delivery with public‑sector participants. Feedback will be used to refine the framework before broader rollout through accredited training providers, establishment of the professional register, and engagement with public‑sector buyers to support adoption.
