Trellis

We're building an AI-powered suite of educational administration tools, starting with a Child's Plan Generator. Our platform records Team Around the Child meetings and automatically drafts required documentation, ingesting handwritten notes and emails. This significantly reduces admin time, allowing teachers to focus on direct student support rather than paperwork, ultimately improving learner outcomes for children with additional support needs.

The Opportunity

Over 40% of Scottish students now Additional Support Needs — and rising. Our solution is relevant for all schools (>30,000 in the UK), and a global education admin software market of £8.7bn. We are looking to build partnerships with central and local government, schools, and existing software providers.

Next Steps

We'll pilot with Scottish schools, then scale nationwide through GLOW integration and partnerships with management information systems. Following successful deployment, we'll expand our AI toolkit to automate additional administrative processes, targeting UK-wide rollout and exploring international education markets.

The Team

Trellis is a new venture from HelpFirst (AI specialists for caring organisations including NSPCC and Citizens Advice Scotland) and Create/Change (track record in public sector digital transformation including Pearson and DfE).
