AITEAL

AITEAL is an ethical, community powered data collection and governance platform built to create legally usable Gaelic language data for AI, education and public services. It enables the collection of natural, dialect rich speech with clear, granular consent, supported by AI‑in‑the‑loop moderation, metadata creation and controlled export. AITEAL transforms fragmented, high risk language data collection into a trusted, compliant and scalable platform that supports modern language technology while centring community trust and cultural integrity.

The Opportunity

AITEAL addresses a growing global need for consent led, high quality language and voice data. Initial markets include public services, education, research, archives and speech AI teams, with recurring revenue from licences, subscriptions, APIs and specialist services. The platform is scalable beyond Gaelic and replicable for other minority and under resourced languages worldwide.

Next Steps

Next steps focus on refining the MVP into a deployable platform by expanding community participation, validating scalable workflows, piloting use cases with early customers, and strengthening governance and commercial models. This phase will generate clear proof of value and establish the foundations for an independent entity with sustainable, long term growth potential.

The Team

The founding partner organisations bring long standing experience, trust and credibility built through decades of community led work, alongside strong technical expertise and a proven ability to deliver effective, values driven campaigns. AITEAL is now emerging as the new entity that will carry this capability forward, uniting deep community engagement, cutting‑edge language technology and compelling campaign delivery. It represents a positive step change for Gaelic and signals what is possible for minority languages worldwide when innovation is ethical and community led.
